National Poetry Month
We only have about two weeks left of April, but there’s still time to celebrate National Poetry Month by writing or reading a poem (or both)! I’ve noticed that students tend to find poetry boring, hard to understand, or a complete waste of time. However, if you discover a form of poetry you enjoy (like a verse novel) on a topic you connect with, it can be an exciting and emotional reading experience. So give poetry a chance and check out one of these verse novels or poetry books available from the library.
